In 1997, Sean embarked on his media journey when he assumed the role of sports editor at Capital FM. None could have foreseen that this would mark the start of an illustrious career in sports journalism.
For nine dedicated years, Sean poured his heart and soul into Capital FM, shaping the station's sports coverage. Yet in 2005, he took a bold step into the unknown, seeking fresh horizons to enrich his career.
Paradise FM became the canvas for Sean to showcase his multifaceted talents. Here, he wore the hat of a radio presenter while actively contributing to the production team.
In 2014, Sean made a pivotal move to the Nation Media Group, assuming the role of Head of Radio. During this time, he emerged as a prominent sports journalist and anchor at NTV, firmly establishing his presence in the Kenyan media landscape.
Then, in June 2023, Sean made a poignant return to Capital FM after an 18-year hiatus, demonstrating his enduring commitment to the field he cherished. He was poised to present sports updates on weekdays and host the Saturday Music and Sports program, playing a vital role in the station's sports rebranding efforts.
The passing of Sean Cardovillis has left a void in Kenyan sports journalism, but his legacy as a trailblazer and his unwavering dedication to his craft will be etched in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Throughout his illustrious career, Sean was revered for his unwavering dedication and boundless passion. His engaging interviews with athletes and coaches, coupled with his insightful analysis and commentary, set him apart as a respected figure in the industry. It's worth noting that his last interview was with none other than the double world and Olympic champion, and triple world record holder, Faith Kipyegon.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS
Sean was cremated on the 14th of September 2023 at a private family ceremony.
